Following the unbundling of its shipping business into a separate entity, Grindrod has appointed Grindrod Freight Services CEO Andrew Waller as group CEO.
Grindrod Shipping listed in the industrial-transportation services sector of the JSE on June 19 and on the Nasdaq on June 18, while Grindrod is focused on its freight services businesses to achieve sustainable long-term growth and explore opportunities to introduce diversification and increase scale.
Waller’s appointment follows the resignation of former Grindrod CEO Bongiwe Ntuli.
Further, Grindrod Freight Services CFO Xolani Mbambo has been appointed FD of Grindrod, while David Polkinghorne will continue to lead Grindrod Financial Services and Grindrod Bank, and Mike Hankinson continues as Grindrod chairperson.
