Vertically integrated filtration company Donaldson Filtration Solutions is embarking on new initiatives to further streamline the company’s offerings to the market and effectively support customer expectations.

“We took a strategic decision to source our modular equipment directly from our international manufacturing plants, in line with our global partners. This will enable us to keep dust collectors’ ex-stock at our South African distribution centre offering our clients the luxury of ‘off the shelf supply’ as opposed to the traditional ‘make to order’ philosophy with long lead times. This now renders a harmonised approach with regard to quality expectations at global Donaldson standards,” states Donaldson industrial air filtration GM Brian Gabriel.

Donaldson has manufactured and distributed numerous cartridge type filters for various applications. Donaldson cartridge type filters have been set as an industry standard, which has proven extremely effective, with emission levels below 5 mg/Nm3. Inventor of the cartridge collector, Donaldson Torit, has led the way with continuous innovation, such as the award-winning Downflo Oval dust collection technology.

“Donaldson’s new best in class Downflo Evolution dust collectors solve the industry’s need for better filtration, reduced operational cost, a smaller footprint and easier maintenance. Many have tried to emulate our technology, however, there is only one Donaldson. Consumers need to be aware of fake offerings with no support or aftermarket as this could prove to be costly in the long run.”

Donaldson’s Ultra-Web cartridge filters and Dura-Life bag replacement filters are the latest innovative media formulations. Dura-Life filter bags provide twice the life over standard 16 oz polyester bags, which are produced through a needling process that creates larger pores where dust can embed into the fabric, inhibiting cleaning and reducing bag life.

Dura-Life bags are engineered with a unique hydroentanglement process that uses water jets to blend the fibres. This process creates a felt with smaller pores which keeps more dust on the surface of the filter resulting in better pulse cleaning and longer bag life.

“From portable to central collectors and pressurisation filters, Donaldson Torit provides the most complete range of cartridge collectors that cost effectively enhance productivity and manufacturing efficiency. We have a team of highly experienced and dedicated sales and application engineers that are capable of providing customised solutions for each dust or fume application.”

Donaldson’s global reach serves manufacturers in Africa, North and South America, Asia Pacific and Europe. Currently, the com- pany operates more than 40 manufacturing facilities, distribution centres, subsidiaries and headquarters globally. Committed to providing customers with products and services that consistently meet their expectations, Donaldson proudly holds over 50 technical specification, international automotive quality management systems, ISO and aerospace and defence quality certifications.

Original-equipment manufacturers have come to rely on Donaldson to solve their filtration issues.
