The Atlas Copco group is an international enterprise with a global reach spanning 180 countries. The company’s products and services focus on productivity, energy efficiency, safety and ergonomics aimed at increasing customers’ productivity and competitiveness, while benefiting society and minimising environmental impact. 

Founded in 1873 in Stockholm, Sweden, Atlas Copco has more than 145 years, experience. The company started operations in South Africa in 1946 and is based in Jet Park, Boksburg. Its head office has a site area of 86 000 m², with an undercover area of 28 000 m², including its administration building, workshops, distribution centre and warehouse. 

Atlas Copco South Africa specialises in the sales, service and marketing of various sustainable productivity solutions, supplied through its dedicated business areas. It offers a nationwide sales, distribution and service network, ensuring that its products run at maximum efficiency, with minimum on-site downtime. 

Compressor Technique business area

Provides innovative solutions for the manu-facturing, oil and gas, and process industries. 

Products include:

  • industrial compressors
  • gas and process compressors and expanders
  • air and gas treatment equipment
  • air management systems 

Vacuum Technique business area

Provides products under the Edwards, Leybold and Atlas Copco brands, amongst others, including: 

  • vacuum products
  • exhaust management systems
  • valves and related products

Power Technique business area

Provides air, power, light and flow solutions through products such as:

  • mobile compressors
  • pumps
  • light towers and generators, and a number of complementary products

Industrial Technique business area

Provides industrial power tools, assembly systems, quality assurance products, software and service solutions for all industries. Industrial Technique also have their own SANAS accredited laboratory, which are able to perform on-site torque calibration up to 45,000Nm, in accordance with global and national standards.

Atlas Copco South Africa employs 257 people and is ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, OHSAS18001:2009 rated, with imminent certification for ISO45001:2018. 

The company is committed to community engagement and its ‘Water for All’ initiative provides access to clean drinking water, in an effort to help transform communities.
