A decision to sell information and communication technology (ICT) group Vox Telecom has been retracted, with CEO Jacques du Toit saying on Tuesday that its investors have recommitted to the business.

The group began an “exploratory process” in July last year to determine the best options for maximising the growth of Vox.

The final decision had to provide a foundation for the business to capitalise on "dynamic changes in the ICT landscape”.

However, the decision to continue the business as a standalone operation emerged after Vox’s executive committee outlined a future strategy, which focused on entering new markets, an aggressive customer acquisition drive and a commitment to lowering costs to service customers in a competitive market, to its investors late last year.

“The decision by our investors to reinvest in our business is a strong signal to the market that our strategy for 2015 and beyond, coupled with a thriving ICT sector, is sound,” Du Toit said.
