Royal HaskoningDHV appoints new MD

Salani Sithole

International consulting engineering company Royal HaskoningDHV (RHDHV) appointed Salani Sithole as South African operations MD, effective March 1.

Sithole has been with the company for six years and prior to joining Royal HaskoningDHV held various positions in engineering consulting, municipal, power and rail engineering as well as business development.  He was a senior manager in Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa, Transnet, Eskom and the City of Johannesburg.

Sithole also served as vice-chairperson for Southern African Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (SANEC South Africa); chairperson for the Consulting Engineers South Africa Transport Liaison Committee and board member for the Private Civil Engineering Testing Laboratory.

He joined RHDHV as marketing and business development group manager and occupied a number of strategic roles required by the business to achieve and realise its objectives.

“We are very happy that Salani has accepted this position. With his professional background and knowledge of the local business and its specific requirements, we feel he is the right person to further boost our South African operations,” RHDHV board chairperson Erik Oostwegel, said.

“At the same time he knows there is a wealth of in-depth knowledge and expertise available to him and his team through the global network of professionals in Royal HaskoningDHV.”

Sithole added that he looked “forward to continuing the further development of our South African business while embracing our promise of enhancing society”.
