Cement manufacturer PPC on Monday appointed Peter Nelson as its permanent chairperson.
Nelson, who assumed the role of interim chairperson following the retirement of Bheki Sibiya in January, had been serving as an independent nonexecutive director since January 2015.
“Having successfully led the board during the capital-raise period, and given his outstanding performance, the board believes that Nelson is well suited to lead the board and the company on a permanent basis,” the company said in an update to shareholders on Monday.
