Strengthening its position in the European extrusion coatings market, international packaging and paper group Mondi has inked a deal with technical laminates and protective packaging company Walki Oy for the acquisition of two extrusion coatings plants in Pietarsaari, Finland and Wroclaw, Poland, for €60-million.
The operations collectively generated revenues of €113-million and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation of €9-million for the year ended April 30, 2015.
The transaction remained subject to competition clearance and other customary closure conditions and was expected to complete by the third quarter of the year, when payment would be made in cash.
