Powermite is proud to reveal the Gen 2 plastic XREEL® series from its celebrated AMPCO brand which are packed with features to provide customers with reliable, robust and safe performance.

“This range of robust cutting-edge cable extension reels epitomises our belief in supplying only premium quality products and bears our stamp of approval in terms of quality,” states Donovan Marks, Director at Powermite. “We are confident that the XREEL® will be a widely embraced amongst our customers in the commercial, mining and industrial sectors across the African continent.”

Powermite, part of the Hudaco group of companies, recently launched the Gen 2 plastic range in a bid to further expand on its current locally manufactured metal and plastic range. Manufactured from Polyamide 6 and PC/ABS, the Gen 2 plastic range delivers enhanced benefits such as impact resistance combined with high robustness; high thermal stability; great insulating qualities; high impact strength; UV resistance according to ISO 4892-2 as well as high abrasion and weather resistance.

With the XREEL’s ®carrying rack and drum moulded from this highly durable special plastic material, these units are robust-to-the-core. The unit is offered in two sizes, 250mm and 310mm, with cable lengths of up to 33m and 50m respectively. With safety and convenience central to its design, the XREEL® features a patented brake system which is centrally placed within the axle, a sturdy stand with wide supporting points and openings in the drum for water drainage.

The central panel is available in different versions and can accommodate up to four plug points ensuring optimum versatility for end-users in the industrial sectors. With a handle for top carrying comfort and a stable crank, the ergonomically designed modern cable reel is easy to handle.

Rolling to a close, Marks says that these simple yet powerful features ensure that end-users are able to work faster, smarter and safer. “With the new plastic XREEL® customers can focus on their tasks at hand, whilst the cable extension reel gets the job done.”

Powermite has earned the reputation as a leading industrial plugs and sockets manufacturer and supplier for over 30 years. Alongside the XREEL®, the AMPCO Gen 2 plastic range is offered in a standard screw terminal connector and includes industrial plugs and sockets 16A – 125A, connectors, heavy-duty engineering plastic site distribution boxes with socket outlets; heavy- duty rubber distribution combination boxes; couplers; wall and flanged sockets 16A – 125A; switched interlocked sockets as well as the PRCD-S+ inline portable protection device.

AMPCO products are known for their quality, reliability and safety. Manufactured to SANS 60309 Part 1 and Part 2 standards, the AMPCO range of CEE products is supported by branches located in Rustenburg, Witbank, Durban, Richards Bay and Cape Town, as well as by a strategic distributor network.
