International elemental analysis company Innov-X Africa has taken delivery of the newly launched Vanta Max and Vanta Core X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysers, which were showcased at this year’s Investing in African Mining Indaba, held in Cape Town last month.

The company also plans to promote the new analysers at other trade fairs and through its social media platforms.

Innov-X Africa is the official South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa distributor for the Vanta Max and Vanta Core, which were designed and manufactured by technology solutions provider Evident Scientific – powered by Olympus.

“Innov-X Africa aims to carry both analysers as existing stock to ensure faster delivery times to clients,” says Innov-X Africa sales executive Craig Bateman.

The analysers are the company’s most advanced handheld devices, and can provide “rapid, accurate element analysis and alloy identification for clients in the foundries, forges or die-cast industries”.

“Our clients in these sectors demand real-time laboratory-quality results in the field,” he adds.

The Vanta handheld XRF analysers are built for tough environments and have a “rugged and durable design” that makes them resistant to damage, thereby allowing for greater uptime and reducing the cost of ownership.

Specifications

The next-generation Vanta Max and Vanta Core deliver accurate material identification using smart and cloud-connected technology.

These updated portable XRF analysers combine the “exceptional” accuracy, speed, and durability of the Vanta series with improved ergonomics, a refreshed interface, and enhanced connectivity for greater comfort and productivity.

The new ergonomic design includes a balanced handle with an enhanced grip, making the updated portable XRF analysers more comfortable to hold for extended use anywhere.

Additionally, the Max and Core boast an intuitive interface that enables users to work more efficiently.

Data management is also simplified, owing to the browser-based software option.

With a wireless connection, users can review, share and manage XRF results on a personal computer, tablet or smartphone, consequently allowing for seamless data integration into workflow processes.

Software updates are now automatic, enabling users to instantly access the latest features, says Bateman. For customer-specific requirements, users can take advantage of enhanced application support with the option of adding custom analytical capabilities.

The Vanta series is powered by proprietary XRF signal processing technology from Axon Technologies; the technology uses ultralow-noise electronics to deliver higher X-ray counts every second to allow for fast, repeatable results.

Vanta analysers are used globally in applications such as scrap recycling, mining, metal fabrication, positive material identification, environmental assessment, scientific research and education.

The Vanta Max model, replacing the M series, offers the series’ highest analytical capabilities for robust applications, including mining exploration, mineral analysis, soil testing and environmental analysis.

The Vanta Core model, replacing the C series, combines value with speed, with few detection limits and a wide elemental range, which essentially makes it the standard choice for fast alloy identification.

The Vanta Max and Core models are available with optional XRF accessories, including the redesigned field stand, soil foot and holster for greater efficiency in the field.

“The next generation of Vanta handheld XRF analysers demonstrates Evident’s commitment to innovation,” says Evident analytical instruments global sales VP Randy Wertz.

He says the new Vanta analysers are designed to empower customers worldwide with “exceptional performance, comfort and efficiency”, enabling them to achieve “outstanding results” in the laboratory and in the field.

“Innov-X Africa is excited to hear from clients about the efficiencies the new range offers once they have started using them in real-world situations,” Bateman concludes.
